Sure...we're ALL going on safari via private jet - we won't buy anything because it's all being provided for us, and whatever extra we want, we'll just pick it up there--my treat, naturally.  We get to stay for a 2 months - all inclusive, Julie can leave her "goodies" at home, and that includes Marian's golfclub.  Spa treatments for everybody!!!  Animals galore.  Food that melts in yer mouth & doesn't land on our hips.  Comfortable beds at night. Perfect weather. What else do we want? Oh, let's dream a lil'...after all, it's April Fool's Day!!!!!!!!!!

"Vasan, a baby Tapir explores its enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo, Scotland, Friday March 30, 2007. The birth is a special event as it is the first time a Malayan Tapir has been born at the zoo and is also the first baby for this particular adult Tapir. Tapirs are hoofed mammals and are related to rhinos and horses."

I saw that Crowned Plover/Lapwing with its white 'crown' ring around its head, and it reminded me of a joggers sweatband,....so:

    TinyPic image

The 118-118 tee is a reference to some spoof joggers in some series of tv ads over here..

And yes,i got plenty of zoo photographs, but they are on a disc which i will rummage thru for u,..once i have completed the Rain Bird story.

I was just thinking of what 4EE said about the new cam on the elephant. That should be something to see. I would like to see them catch the elephant and mount the camera. We have some more fun to look forward to when the pond comes back.

What a nice shot we are seeing now with the color reflected in the water but no color in the sky.

There is a sad story called The Scarlet Ibis..about a boy of about eight and his younger handicap brother..he hated to have to be with him and wait on the skinny weak boy...you might want to google it ..it's not a long story..I remember it from childhood...it made me cry ..lifes lessons and all

I really like to get shots when there are a lot of animals. I wish that they would put a uv filter on the lens and cut out that haze.

Rita, how are you going to fix the water problem?

4EE did you get any pictures of the zoo visits.  Dee, how about you?

Funny you should ask about pictures.  We both forgot our cameras!  This zoo is not a good zoo for shooting.  A large majority of pens have wire around them and it is difficult to see through the wire.  They did have some fabulous birds named, "Scarlet Ibis".  They were the most fantastic colored bird I have ever seen.  They were this vibrant irridescent scarlet/orange color.  Gorgeous!
Wow Dee, I google Scarlet Ibis, you are right, they have great color.
