Bonnie, that last tornado (the one in Haltom City was less than a quarter of a mile from us) was way too close for comfort. Strange things are happening weather-wise.

When I was in the first tornado there was no early waring system in place so it was hit or miss if you knew that one was coming. The first one was at 1:30 in the afternoon and we were rearranging the furniture in the dining room. It went so dark that grandpa had to light a candle and just that fast it was over and we saw the damage that had been done. No one was injured, thank heavens.

The only place we haveto get is in the hall and close all the doors to the bedrooms. My next house is going to have a basement. Man, that last thunder almost made me jump out of my chair. I am wide awake now.

What were the 3 birds...long tailed shrikes, yellow or red hornbill and red-billed something?

You take such nice pics Patty. Helen seems to talk alot more with Pieter, probably can't get a word in with her hubby.

I'm watching the gorilla's too and Moja is living up to her name. Wants to play and mom is to tried. She is throwing straw around and making me laugh.

Shar, I've been in 2 tornado, one is Indiana that came at us out of nowhere and with no warning and the other was when we were stationed in Birmingham Al. You feel so threatened and don't know when or where or if they will hit you. I understand just how you are feeling.

Kinda neat to see things at one place and then see it at the other a bit later...I thought that the giraffe that I saw the other day was the same. It was really dark in color compared to these guys.

The WH was upside down for a minute there. They must still be working on it.
