Hi, just got home and well tis the season here in out little
town.  They are putting a star on the tree in the park and
they were hanging the icicle lights on the town tavern.
There is a nice video on Kim Wolhuters sight at
www, wildcast.net.  For those who would like an
    elly fix its pretty cute.

Thanks Bonnie - I can't get the video to play just now but will try again later.  So, how come you didn't post the site using "the red thingy" that makes it live?  Hee hee.  I saw you post on the tech thread but LAP had already answered you.

Yea, Bonnie. I wore my poor little fingers to the bone answering that question for you.

    www.wildcast.net

See, like that.....you had www comma wildcast - that is why it wasn't working.

Clarification on my own lack of English skills..... that is why the addy wasn't showing as live.

    hehehe

Well pachypoo,, looks like my mission is going to take longer
than summer break at the pond.  Thank Lap.

This is a message for "Dabardi" who just posted on the other thread which is just for thank-you's, so I'll send my message to you here.

Your post touched me very much and I just wanted to let you know you most certainly are not alone.  You are amongst lots of friends here who share your animal interests.  Hopefully, you enjoy some of our (my) sick humour as well.  Type in a post and tell us about yourself. Smile

Oh that's right...she's doing a book.  How do we get a copy?  Will she post here and let us all know?  When, Where, How, ....?  That's really cool...I can't wait.  There'll be some silly moments for sure, and I know I'll be laughing out loud.

Sue - that was so pretty!

Back at ya Karen/California.  Hoping to see a beautiful sunrise (look guys, I got it right twice now) and some critters in a few hours.  I missed the zebras last night.

Well, Jackie, I rarely have time to wade through all the posts, so it was fortunate that all these wonderful people who can take screenshots and videos were kind enought to post on the Screenshots thread...otherwise, I'd have never known!

While I'm at it....Dave & Lottie, you two have been cracking me up over your "Momma and Son" routine!  Thanks for the laughs.

Man-oh-man....there's a LOT of names on your Roll Call list, LAP!  WooHooo!  It's so much fun to read through.  Good job, kiddo!

And you want me to add Elvis and Carcass cams to all those names???? Not on your life! Maybe just to yours? That would work!

Naw...wouldn't be fair to everybody who sat and watched Elvis for all those hours.  I'm still smiling over that!  Never in my life did I EVER think I'd sit that long & watch a darn bird do nothing!!!

Ok, now you've got me laughing so hard I can barely type.....

Wait for the book that Anniliese has done on the pond. Maybe she will have the exerpts in there from the Elvis forum.

Now you must remember to whom you speak.  I tried to do as Lap said
and it didn't work. So no red thingy.  When Marian gets here, new hair due
and all she can help you put. He has got some really cute video of baby
elles playing.  I signed up for his daily email and look forward to seeing them.
I would love to meet him, even if he wasn't the piece of eye candy that he
    is.

I am taking on mission when the pond is down. I am going to learn some
of this stuff.  For season #3 you will not recognize me, well maybe if you
don't remember my spelling and lack of S's at the end of words.

I always open a second internet session, find the site I want, copy the URL and paste it http://wildcast.net/  I think this works.  Kim is quite nice looking but I still can't get the video to play. Bonnie, I have the same goal as you - I want to share screen shots, videos, etc next year.  I'll be practicing :)

No sound. Cam operator explained that sometimes when on auto pan the sound cuts off automatically after a while....so it will be very quiet til someone comes back and turns it on.

    Beautiful Poinsettia, Sue. Thanks.

Ya Carmen I always thought you were behind alot of those Not Specified messages, I just hope you didn't write the really nasty ones.

I don't have to hide behind a "Not Specified" to write my messages.  There have been times when I forget to include my name...I have always corrected that.

I am not ashamed to say what I think...you clearly are...under your name.  Wanting to point to some one else?  I am sure it is you that stirs up trouble every time the forum has settled down.  And the forum follows...how sad.

Bringing up some criticism does not mean that the person does not appreciate the cam or the cam operators.  A lot of people here are confusing these two issues.

My comments have been polite, you however need some education (anonymous remarks are rude).

A lot of good people have left because there is no restrain in the forum.  One "negative" (as you call it) message is always followed by nasty remarks, calling names and asking that person to leave.  There is only one person that can do that, and that is John Kondis.

I for one am very sad to see this behaviour over and over again.  I wish that persons like Jayell would come back.

    Carmen

I agree with you, Carmen.  There have been a couple of times that I have wanted to make a suggestion that might have been construed as a "negative" comment, but I have been too scared to post it.  I think I did make one comment that I thought was very polite, but I was squashed like a bug.  I, too, want Jayelle back.  I loved her humor, her knowledge and her personality.  We all have different personalities, which makes for a nice mix for a forum.  But we have to accept other's suggestions as their feelings/viewpoints we all don't have to agree) and move on.  That is if they are not rude with their posts.  Otherwise, ignore them and move on.  That's what I'm trying to do.

I realize that I will probably be way out of the same posts, but my computer seems to be very slow in getting my posts online.  Plus, I type slowly and constantly correct my typos.  It's been a long time since I retired.

I love it when the cam operators are here and there is activity at the pond.  Earlier today was a great example of wonderful pond experiences.  I hope the sunrise in a couple of hours will bring us Pondies more Botswanan nature, along with G&G, the spoonbill, the weavers and all the other birds that we have seen, turtles, etc.  I love all that I can get to see.

Now I'm going to go watch some TV and eat something.  I'll be back in a couple of hours for more of Pete's Pond live streaming video that has transported me to the Hide, without all the bugs, heat, etc.

I can't always read the comments, but I've learned that no matter what is going on, human nature steps in --- every time!

Botswana may be heading for the rainy season, when water is available all around, but it seems to me as if long periods of no animals are studded with lots of animals!  Maybe they just like Pete's Place?

Hi pondies, Well I had a very nice today and I'm not going to ruin it by staying on here and reading the constant garbage.  The best way to get rid of these people is "just ignore them and DON'T answer their posts"  they will go away.  We are in the Christmas season and lets remember what it's really for.  I'll try again tomorrow.  Goodnite.
