    Many thanks Sandra and Rita.

I'm glad to know she's strong and has been able to overcome her injury.

Thanks for the nudge too for the proper forum.

    Re: Elephant with bad leg

Hi, cyenobite, and welcome to the forum.  This ellie is about twenty years old, and we understand that she broke her leg many years ago, and it healed badly.  That does make it harder for her to get around, but she is a strong, spirited and very special elephant, and a great favorite here.  Her herd watches out for her, and she comes to the Pond often.  Come to the New Sightings And Sounds thread, where we talk about the animals and birds we see at the Pond.  You will find lots of pictures of Brave Lady, and a lot of people who will be happy to tell you about her.

Hello all, I'm new here. Does anyone have any additional info on this elephant with the injured/deformed leg? I saw him/her a day or so ago, and felt really bad for it. From Jayell's post in Sept, I'm glad to know this ele is managing to get around for some time now. Just looking for more info is all.

No there isn't. In fact we don't know if they are even in the area on any given day. Just keep watching!!

Is there a certain time when the Ellies come out?

    Elephant with bad leg

The elephant with the injured/deformed front leg came to the pond today.  Looks as if she's still doing well.  Smile

This old lady showed up while the forum was down.  She does look as if she's quite old with the long tusks and gaunt face - hope Jeanetta knows who she is.

20080130 A young elephant seen at the pond tonight.

This elephant cought my eye as it has really *pointy* ears. He also has a shortened trunk and I wonder if Jeanetta can ID the elephant - I do understand that a lot of changes take place and it is probable that the elephant cannot be ID'd but I thought I'd try anyway :)) Thanks.

The crooked (left) tusk seems to go under her chin and point to the right:

Is this Tuli 4 or Pamina? I have also posted a picture of one of the cows in the same herd.
