    Fun video...

Hi Kids,  posted below is another interesting facet of California: ladybugs!

    Ladybug Pajama Party
Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home! Each year Ladybugs fly in by the millions to winter in the East Bay's Redwood Regional Park. But how these beetles know where to go is still one of nature’s mysteries.

    An Elephant Seal Poem

    The Elephant Seal's Nose

    By: Mary Ciotkowski

    The elephant seal's nose

    is floppy and inflatable.

    Most people say he's homely

    But I'd say that's debatable.

He weighs a ton or more

    He settles where he pleases.

    The beach is rather crowded,

So I hope he never sneezes.

    Write your own story

Hey there, Kids.  Do you like to tell stories.  You can use these sheets to write your very own story about an elephant seal.  Use your imagination and have fun! Smile

    Seal Kids Page

Some of the other wildcams have a "Kids Page" thread, so I thought I'd add one here!

Here's some exciting information for kids from the Monterey Bay Aquarium (along the same coastline as the Ano Nuevo elephant seals we see at this wonderful wildcam):

    • Are you into conservation?
    • Are you a natural explorer?
    • Are you between the ages of 10 and 13?

Then we’re looking for you! Become one of our 2008 Official Explorers.

We're launching our third Official Explorer contest and are looking for two great kids to take over for this year's explorers—Ayla Besemer, Sierra Garcia and Eduardo Rocha—who've done a fantastic job championing the aquarium's mission in 2007.
