Sudokodiak Puzzle and Solution: Find out who receives a gift from National Geographic!

    SUDOKODIAK PUZZLE

Click on the puzzle for a printable version

Complete the SUDOKODIAK PUZZLE by following the rules that apply to the Sudoku puzzles. The puzzle is a 9-by-9 grid of squares divided into nine 3-by-3 blocks.  The object is to fill in the blank squares in such a way that the letters and the phrase GEO BRAINS will appear exactly once in each row, column, and block. If completed correctly, the middle row will answer the question, “What do our ursine friends do when it is time to hibernate?”

When you have solved the puzzle, send your answer to my National Geographic Community Forum Private Inbox. Click on mbenefiel and leave your message. The first person to post the correct answer each hour of the daylong event will receive a free gift, a National Geographic Polar Bear Wall Calendar, from the National Geographic Online Store.

2008 National Geographic Polar Bears Wall Calendar
Did you know that a polar bear's skin is black underneath all that fur, and that their fur is actually translucent? It helps keep them warm in the winter and provides effective camouflage. This calendar is full of other interesting facts about polar bears and their lifestyle, not to mention twelve amazing photographs.

Gift recipients will be announced in the “Sudokodiak Puzzle” thread at 9:00 PM ET.
