Re: Get Involved: Help the Bears and Make a Difference

Thanks Lin. Also heres the email link for Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin www.gov.state.ak.us/govmail.php

Another thing I would like to mention is Katmai Nationa Park and Preserve is federally controled land and to get a legal hunt stopped takes an act of Congress. That's why it's essential that everyone write their local Congressmen to ask that the Grizzly bear hunt in Katmai National Preserve, Alaska GMU 9C be stopped. The Alaska Board of Fish and Game are very pro hunters and they will fight tooth and nail to keep this Grizzly bear hunt open unless we get as many state represetitives involved as possible.

Re: Get Involved: Help the Bears and Make a Difference

I've been out to Katmai photographing the brown bears for many years and I too am extremely saddened by the so called hunt out there this past October. I'm asking everyone to please go to www.rjacksonphotography.com and read the URGENT MESSAGE I've posted on my website. A brief summary of the disgusting unethical events that went on. There is a list of things that can be done as well as links. I obtained permission from the professional videographer and photographers who filmed and photograhed the hunt to include their links also.  I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for their efforts in getting this bear slaughter stopped. Please forward this information to everyone you can.

Re: Get Involved: Help the Bears and Make a Difference

There is a "Bear Action Alert" news thread, here on the Grizzly Bear forum:

    http://forums.ngm.com/forums/thread/50660.aspx

This thread is available to everybody who loves these majestic creatures - and to those of us who want to ensure their habitat is preserved for future generations. Sometimes the issues can seem overwhelming and that your voice will never be heard...well, we've learned through many sources in Alaska that they heard us loud and clear & we HAVE made a difference in helping our bears.

Please check out this Griz forum thread and stand with the rest of us who want to help these bears.

    ....thank you.
