FourSeason_Queenie is the winner. Yes, the answer is not quite correct and Valerie posted the correct answer but had already won a prize. HOWEVER, FourSeason_Queenie was in there playing the game!

Answer Question #9: As for that white coat, well, it's not really white at all. Each of the  individual hairs is translucent; the polar bear's fur appears white only because it  reflects light. This quality led some to speculate that the hollow hairs absorbed  ultraviolet light and funneled it to the polar bear's skin, helping to keep the bear  warm. This theory, however, has been disproved. http://www9.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/polarbearcam/about_bears.html

Answer Question #7: Unlike WildCam Grizzlies or WildCam Africa, Polar Bear Cam isn't a  video feed from a remotely controlled stationary camera. Polar bears—being  nomadic—could never be pinned down to a fixed location like Pete's Pond. They  have to be stalked by the camera, so to speak. http://www9.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/polarbearcam/technology.html
