Re: WildCam Africa Viewing Season Update

It has been so nice to be able to watch the Pond all winter long. Thank you for extending it, you could leave this one on all year as far as I'm concerned.

This is my first post also.  I found this site about two months ago and I am totaly addicted.  I can't wait until the cams are fixed.  I always wanted to go to africa on a photo safari, this is the next best thing.  Maybe someday I can go on one of your  trips.

I only found this site about a month ago but my husband & i are hooked.  Thanks for the update & hopefully the funding will extend past the end of Feb.  It's so interesting to see what's happening at the pond while I'm sitting here @ my computer.

    Thanks so much.

    pennylane2406:

The cam is playing a video right now. Why isn't it live right now? I saw the same one the other night when I checked in.

    What's going on?

    Great video though, haha.

Pennylane, They have been having technical problems with the cam, so the are playing the re-run.

You need to go to the Forum thread that's for Sightings & Sounds and see all the posting, photos from earlier...

    Enjoy the Pond.   It's addictive.

Hello! As far as I know all NG wants is for you to enjoy and subscribe to their magazines or sign up for one of their trips..no monetary donations needed for the pond viewing..just enjoy Big Smile

On a side note Kakadu Australia is starting up soon and it should be a real treat..they do have platypus and they look like beavers,,,sort of!!

Re: WildCam Africa Viewing Season Update

I'm new to the blog and I've only been a 'pondie' for 1 and a half weeks.....

I've navigated the NG website and can't seem to locate (I"m sure it's there somewhere) a place to make donations to specifically support the webcam at Pete's....

Can you tell me the info or where to get it if it exists.

Much thanks to Afke and any and all who help with this webcam.....I just had to bump up my Mother's DSL speed so she could watch too.....everyone in my family is now hooked...3 year old great-niece is anxiously awaiting the sighting of a beaver...she was ready to see a bear too....she is obviously a Montana girl.  The giraffes and elephants along with all the birds have made up for your lack of beavers with her.  :)  I think I'll have to hook her up with the griz and/or polar bear  cams when they are up and running

Much appreciation and respect for you all.

    Huli

Re: WildCam Africa Viewing Season Update

This is my first post - I found the site after being "off my feet" for 3 months due to several leg fractures.  I am so addicted to this site....the last few days have been wonderful for elephants.  Thank you so much for keeping this going.  I am so appreciative and love watching whenever I can. Thank you again.

Re: WildCam Africa Viewing Season Update

A big "Thank You" to everyone involved including camera operator extrordinaire, Afke.  Hopefully another month will lead to another and another and another.....................  I will probably never get to Africa so it is wonderful to see this little corner of the world live on my screen.  Zoos are okay, but in the wild is so much more interesting and exciting.

This is wonderful news.  Of course, we will hope that the Pond will be up all year round, but to know we have it for one more month is just tremendous.  Thanks to all involved.  We Pond addicts can breathe a sigh of relief!
